Beadnell hotel enjoying benefits of fibre broadband connection
The coastal village of Beadnell in Northumberland has recently gained access to fibre optic broadband, with homes and businesses enjoying the superfast service's many benefits.
One such firm is the Beadnell Towers Hotel, which was quick off the mark to sign up to receive a connection to the high-speed technology, with owner Mick Colvin praising fibre broadband highly.
He uses the service to communicate with potential guests via social media, offering free wifi and making more of his own spare time available, as online tasks take much less time than before.
Mr Colvin commented: "Fibre broadband has made a big improvement to the business."
The high-speed technology is being brought to Beadnell by the iNorthumberland rollout programme, which is supported by Arch, the Northumberland Development Company and network provider BT.
Councillor for the Bamburgh Division John Woodman explained: "Rolling out fibre broadband will make a big difference to businesses and the economic development of the area, so I'm delighted the rollout has arrived in Beadnell."
Over 600 homes in the village can now connect to fibre broadband, with work currently underway to allow residents and firms based in nearby Seahouses and North Sunderland to gain access to the superfast service too.
