BT installs FTTP broadband to multiple Milton Keynes office units
BT claims to have installed the first fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband connection to multiple office units at Acorn House in Milton Keynes.
The telecoms giant's Openreach and Business arms worked with the owners of Acorn House and New Koncepts, the site's resident IT consultancy, to deploy the technology to a variety of organisations within the property.
Enterprise customers taking advantage of the service will be able to run several cloud applications simultaneously and upload to file transfer websites without seeing a noticeable slowdown in connection speeds, BT claimed.
Building manager at Acorn House Stephen Miles said: "Offering super-fast broadband speeds sets us apart from other local providers and is another benefit for our clients who use our conference and meeting room facilities."
At the start of March, BT called for residents and landlords in fibre-enabled parts of Milton Keynes to take part in a trial of FTTP broadband speeds to apartment blocks.
Openreach is looking for around 1,000 buildings across the UK to get involved in the pilot scheme.
