Easynet fibre broadband packages to reach 80% of firms

Easynet has rolled out a range of business-focused fibre optic broadband packages, which it claims will be available to eight in ten UK firms by 2014.

The fibre-to-the-cabinet products will initially be available to 30 per cent of businesses, with the coverage set to be expanded over the coming months.

Enterprise customers can choose from headline downstream rates of 40 and 80Mbps, while three upload speeds - 2Mbps, 10Mbps and 20Mbps - are available.

UK managing director at Easynet Ivan Gunatilleke said reliable, resilient and secure networks are becoming increasingly important due to the growing popularity of cloud computing, which persuaded the company to launch the fibre broadband product range.

"This is backed up with Easynet's outstanding customer service and flexible delivery, making it a powerful proposition for UK business," he added.

Last October, the company unveiled its EtherStream product portfolio, which offers "previously unheard-of" download speeds of up to 60Mbps via copper broadband lines.
