Entanet launches first FTTP packages
Entanet has announced the introduction of a range of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband packages aimed at business and residential customers.
The services offer maximum download and upload speeds of 110Mbps and 30Mbps respectively, and monthly bandwidth allowance options that vary from 15GB to 360GB.
Entanet's FTTP launch comes shortly after the internet service provider's (ISP's) first fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) packages hit the market in September 2011.
Stephen Barclay, head of sales at the wholesale voice and data communications firm, said FTTP will offer further market opportunities to its channel partners, which have already shown high levels of demand for Entanet's FTTC packages.
"These products serve a segment of the market that is increasingly demanding higher speeds to run applications, combine video with voice and distribute essential bandwidth consuming files," he added.
Earlier this month, rival ISP Be Broadband revealed it may be considering the launch of its own FTTP product.
Chris Stenning, the company's managing director, said Be has "not ruled out" the introduction of FTTP.
