Fibre broadband to come to Forres and Findhorn
The Scottish Highland communities of Forres and Findhorn are set to benefit from a connection to superfast fibre optic broadband before the summer.
High-speed broadband's arrival to the area was confirmed during a recent conference between locals and officials from BT and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Forres Gazette reports.
In attendance were more than 100 residents and representatives from businesses in the area, along with MSP Richard Lochhead.
Brendan Dick, Head of BT Scotland, also gave a presentation about the planned broadband rollout in the local community.
Mr Lochhead said: "Forres is set to benefit from major investment in July and that is good news for business and home users alike. It will help to keep Forres competitive and an attractive place to live and work."
Following these two areas gaining access to the superfast service, other rural Scotland communities including Dallas, Brodie and Alves will be connected to fibre broadband later this year.
