XILO launches 80Mbps fibre broadband packages
Internet service provider XILO has introduced a range of new fibre optic broadband packages offering speeds of up to 80Mbps.
The new propositions are based on fibre-to-the-cabinet infrastructure from BT, which is currently working on rolling out the technology to two-thirds of homes and businesses across the UK by the end of 2014.
XILO is offering customers a choice of several new options, starting with a package that allows 50GB of peak usage per month, plus download and upload speeds of up to 80Mbps and 20Mbps respectively.
The top-tier product features the same speeds, but boasts a 500GB peak allowance.
XILO launched its website back in June 2003, offering basic shared and reseller hosting services, with the company joining Nominet as a member and registrar the following month.
In December 2008, XILO was chosen as the Maidenhead site for connection performance service Speedtest.net.
On a typical day, broadband users run thousands of trials, with some of these tests bursting at more than 300Mbps.
